On the road to Swakopmund.	The Atlantic Ocean, with fishing vessels in the background.	Not a copyright-protected name obviously.	Looks interesting anyway.
That's it.	Swakopmund.	The Youth Hostel.....	.....which in fact is a former German fort.
But we preferred to stay here.	Quick car wash (gravel roads are REALLY dusty).	One of our watchdogs.	Going out on an exploration walk. Swakopmund is a safe town and places of interest are all in walking distance.
The Bezirksgericht (old German district court - today the Namibian President's summer residence) and lighthouse in the background.	Street merchants selling carvings to tourists (looked more like industrial products than hand-made to us).	Marinedenkmal.	Swakopmund boardwalk.
The beach. The water was too cold for a bath, though.	Lighthouse as seen from the beach.	Is this a tree with an antenna on top or an antenna disguised as a tree ???	Löwenhof sounds like an interesting place for retirement. =;-)
The Hohenzollernhaus.....	.....with some statues on the roof.	Altes Amtsgericht (local court).	Swakopmund is still the most German town in the country.
The former railway station, now converted into a luxury hotel.	The Hansa Brewery, where the tasty Tafel Lager is made. Unfortunately there was no tour available the day we called.	In Swakopmund there is the best Italian restaurant (the Napolitana) in the world we've came across up to now. After lots of braai we really needed some pizza. The second night we tried their spare ribs Namibia size (Texas size is XXS compared to that !!! ;-) There are two layers if you have a closer look.
